Tampa City Council clears the way for digital billboards

According to Tampa Bay Online, Tampa’s city council has approved a final reading of a controversial ordinance clearing the way for digital billboards in the city.

Under the new rules, the two companies that have been involved in litigation with the city over the issue, Clear Channel Outdoors and CBS Outdoors, will be limited to six billboards each, for a total of 12. The digital billboards will have to be separated by at least 2,500 feet and will be allowed mostly along interstate highways and in commercial areas.
