Harris Corporation has announced that Swedish sports retail chain Stadium has installed Harris InfoCaster players as part of an upgrade of its internal digital signage system. The network runs sports-related clips, commercials and news feeds and is installed in 110 stores throughout Sweden.
Harris worked with local services company Effektfabriken on the project, which provides the central management and hosting facility for Stadium that houses InfoCaster Creator content creation stations and InfoCaster Manager network management products.
The InfoCaster Manager is connected to the players over Stadium’s internal VPN network. The current composite video network, which Stadium says will be upgraded to a high-quality VGA network in the future, powers content to CRT, plasma and LCDs across each store.
“More than 60 million visitors a year visit our stores, so we wanted to deploy a state-of-the-art digital signage solution that enables us to communicate more dynamically with customers on the shop floor,” said Kristian Lundman, media manager, Stadium Communications. “The InfoCaster Player devices are deployed over Stadium’s 110 stores throughout Sweden, Finland and Denmark. This particular solution provides high-quality content on our current network, while being flexible enough to support a network upgrade in the future. We are now future-proof and able to provide our customers with interesting content such as sports-related clips, commercials and news feeds at any of our stores.”
