Starmount's Trask to speak on integrated in-store solutions at RetailNOW

AUSTIN, Texas — Starmount, a provider of end-to-end solutions for the integrated digital signage and Oracle Retail (360Commerce) professional services industry, has announced that Richard Trask, vice president of marketing, will deliver a paper entitled “A Holistic Approach to Retail digital signage” to RSPA Members at RetailNOW in Las Vegas on July 14, 2009, at Mandalay Bay Casino.
RetailNOW is a convention and expo for all professionals in the retail technology industry. RetailNOW is where the industry meets each year to become educated on new business trends, emerging technologies and best business practices along with exploring a diverse exhibit hall with more than 130 booths featuring the latest products in retail technology.
Trask will discuss how most digital signage providers are focused on the task of delivering focused content to their customers as they make purchase decisions throughout the store. However, in today’s business environment, for an in-store retail marketing strategy to be successful it is vital to integrate all in-store systems into a multi-tiered framework for deploying applications into various heterogeneous environments, integrating with new and existing business systems, and presenting a unified view to the customer across multiple form factors.
“By integrating their digital signage network with their in-store systems (POS, inventory management, human resource management, etc.), retailers can control pricing, plan and deploy promotions, and encourage participation in in-store loyalty programs by delivering relevant messages based on the intended audience at different times of the day — a concept known as dayparting,” says Trask.
