LONDON — Cleverdis, specialists in information intelligence, has announced Sony as sponsor of â€˜The DOOH Technology Summit’ running in association with Screenmedia Expo Europe 2009, April 7-8, National Hall Olympia, London. Sony will join a high profile speaker line up to contribute independent, in-depth analysis of the various technologies and trends in the OOH digital media industry. “The summit will provide a unique knowledge sharing and networking opportunity while enabling Sony to strengthen its visibility in this market,” said Nick Deen, Sony’s senior marketing manager PDS & RTV. “Our company delivers a wide range of solutions to address diverse project challenges, technical needs and configurations and we will be imparting the results of our market experiences and investigations in a joint â€˜Visual Wealth’ presentation with Professor Michael Hulme.” Sony commissioned Professor Hulme of the Institute for Advanced Studies at Lancaster University to undertake the European â€˜Visual Wealth’ research project, with the objective to clearly develop the term so it encapsulates the socio/technical changes impacting larger screen developments and their use in real and commercial settings. The study will include many differing forms of research, from user studies through to quantitative data collection and expert interviews. Also present at the summit will be Sony’s Ziris Canvas concept, representing the next generation of high impact video feature walls for shopping centres, retail stores, museums, football stadiums, conference venues and many other applications. With Ziris Canvas designers can build video walls using a mix and match of displays of different sizes and orientations, even incorporating random rotations. It also offers amazing possibilities for playout and management of compelling multimedia content to ignite audience interest.
