Scala, IBASE to showcase embedded digital signage systems at DSE 2010

IBASE Technology and Scala have announced that they will showcase an embedded digital signage solution at the upcoming digital signage Expo, to be held Feb. 24-25, 2010, in Las Vegas.
The two companies recently announced a partnership to provide the embedded technology to the digital signage market.According to the press release, the solutions enable high-performance 3D visualized graphics, running under independent VGA graphic memory to secure stability of the processors to run on Scala.
The solution is based around the new IBASE SI-28 Signature Book 2 digital signage system, which supports four independent HDMI outputs at up to 1080p display resolutions. Combined with an AMD Athlon X2 (dual-core) or X4 (quad-core) CPU, its ATI E4690 GPU is equipped with 320 stream processor cores and 512 MB of GDDR3 video memory. The comprehensive I/O set also includes four USB 2.0 ports, two COM ports, analog audio and an integrated Gigabit LAN interface.
Scala also will show how its software is compatible with the IBASE SI-24SD digital signage system. The SI-24SD combines the graphics performance of a discrete ATI E2400 GPU with 128 MB of dedicated GDDR3 video memory and the efficient computing resources of an AMD Athlon-based 1.5 GHz Neo X2 dual-core embedded CPU. It is able to support dual 1080p independent displays with VGA, DVI or HDMI interfaces.
