Real Digital Media expands board of directors

SARASOTA, FL — Real Digital Media, a provider of digital signage products for establishing point-of-purchase marketing, promotions and corporate communication networks, has announced that the company’s Management Committee has appointed Thomas L. Dowdy as a new independent director.
Dowdy founded Florida-based National In-Store (NIS), and directed the company’s growth from start-up in 1994 to the sale of NIS to Omnicom Group Inc. in 2004. Under Dowdy, NIS grew to $46 million in annual sales by providing “one stop, end-to-end solutions” for national retailers and brands.
During Mr. Dowdy’s tenure at NIS, he led the company through an expansion of offerings, including event marketing, sales training, retail metrics, promotional activation, technical services, direct sales, telemarketing, staffing recruiting and distribution logistics.
“IP-driven narrowcast networks are the next big delivery medium for brand content,” Dowdy said. “The recent NBC upfront for out-of-home media validates that these digital signage networks are clearly here to stay, and brands have a new weapon in their arsenal to reach targeted audiences. I couldn’t be more excited about my association with Real Digital Media, a company that is at the forefront of this exciting and emerging market.”
Prior to founding NIS, Dowdy spent over 20 years in the consumer packaged goods industry holding executive level sales and marketing positions with Chesebrough-Ponds (Unilever), Johnson & Johnson and Combe Inc.
Most recently, Dowdy established TLD Group LLC, which provides competencies around venture finance, sales and marketing execution to both start-up and established companies in retailing and brand marketing.
