Omnivex receives two awards from POPAI

CONCORD, Ontario — Omnivex announced that it received two bronze medals in POPAI’s 2008 digital signage Awards Contest at The Global Association for Marketing at-Retail’s annual awards gala, March 19.
Nearly 600 industry professionals gathered to recognize the most innovative and effective marketing at-retail displays, including Omnivex’s deployments at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), bronze award winner in the Government/Education/Corporation network category, and Fraser Health Authority, bronze award winner in the Health Care network category.
“We are honored to receive these distinguished awards from the marketing at-retail association leader,” said Jeff Collard, president of Omnivex. “Our work with our partners for SAIT Polytechnic and Fraser Health has been very fulfilling, and it’s wonderful to be acknowledged for these significant digital signage deployments.”   SAIT turned to Omnivex for a platform that was capable of managing a large digital signage network throughout the school’s three campuses. The system provides a real-time information and emergency response system, monitors and troubleshoots all of the associated hardware automatically, and enables students to drive content to build a stronger sense of community among students, faculty and staff.
Meanwhile, Omnivex helped Fraser Health Authority, one of the largest health care providers in Canada, display data from its phone switch and post that information on screens in its contact center to improve customer service.  The system also allows employees to book conference rooms through their Outlook Calendars and displays that information outside each room. Additionally, displays in the organization’s main office help the company market itself to job candidates and other visitors via real-time information.
