National Association of College Stores announces partnership with Digital College Network

OBERLIN, Ohio – The National Association of College Stores (NACS), the professional trade association representing the $10 billion collegiate retail industry, announced the formation of a strategic alliance with the Digital College Network (DCN), an Atlanta-based company.

DCN is a North American collegiate digital network reaching more than 42 million college students, faculty and alumni on campuses across America annually. DCN delivers broadcast quality original programming, advertising and unique messaging via high quality LCD screens strategically placed in college and university bookstores. DCN also provides activation programs for advertisers including interactive text message programs, electronic coupons and other unique elements.

“This partnership provides a great opportunity for advertisers to directly reach students and faculty in our member stores,” said Erin Wander, director of business partnerships for NACS. “The screens provide entertaining displays in the stores with the ability to localize ads to each campus and store. We are excited about the relationship with DCN and what it will mean for our members.”

DCN is currently operating in 250 college and university bookstores and growing rapidly. The commercial grade LCD screens feature full audio and video capability. The web-based network features original programming, student driven content and high quality ads such as movie trailers, music and video releases and other content created to provide entertaining and relevant information for the 18-24 demographic. DCN also features a unique text messaging program tied to original content and a special web site designed to provide coupons, promotions and social networking opportunities for students.
