McDonald's set to roll out in-store TV channel

According to the Los Angeles Times, McTV could be coming to a McDonald’s near you.

The quick service restaurant titan is launching the McDonald’s Channel, an in-dining room digital signage TV network that will feature original content aimed at dine-in customers, according to the newspaper report. The network’s content will be customized to the individual restaurant’s location, including local news and features.

The McDonald’s channel will be deployed gradually in the coming months and will soon be up in 800 McDonald’s restaurants in Southern and Central California. It has already been tested in Los Angeles, San Diego and Las Vegas, and is expected to reach 18-20 million people a month. If these earliest deployments are considered successful, the project could soon expand across the U.S.
