MONTREAL, Canada — Matrox Graphics, a manufacturer of specialized graphics solutions, has announced the addition of the Matrox Veos Repeater unit to the Veos product line. Connected via coax cable to any of the three Veos components, the Repeater unit branches the signal to two additional coax outputs, and like all Veos components, provides 100m of extension from one Veos unit to the next.
“Daisy-chained variations of Master, Repeater, and Display units provide AV installers with incredible flexibility for large-scale digital signage installations, or events that require quick setup and tear-down,” said Ron Berty, business development manager, Matrox Graphics, Inc. “Since Veos is digital, it can extend content over virtually endless distances, without compromising image quality.”
How the Veos System works
The Veos Master unit connects to the computer, which recognizes it as an ultra-wide display with a resolution of 4080×768, for example. The Master unit uses the same Matrox patent-pending technology found in Matrox Graphics eXpansion Modules (GXMs) to divide this ultra-wide display into up to three unique channels (each 1360×768).
These channels are then transmitted via a single coax cable to Veos Display units attached to screens to display the content. Capable of driving two screens, the Display unit outputs can be changed to show content from any of the transmitted channels and daisy-chained with virtually unlimited numbers of other Veos Display or Repeater units to branch and extend content across a wide variety of installations.
Recognized for its unique ability to drive multiple screens from one computer, Veos recently won the Most InAVative Video Processing or Distribution Product for Commercial Use InAVation award.
From traditional add-in graphics cards, to external graphics expansion modules, to multi-channel digital extension, Matrox solutions enable a single computer to power more than one display simultaneously and provide the flexibility to design the setup to meet the needs of the content, not vice versa. Customers around the world are adopting our multi-display solutions to drive digital signage in retail, transportation, worship and other environments.
