Magenta introduces HD-One for HDMI signal distribution

NEW MILFORD, Conn. — Magenta Research announced the immediate availability of HD-One, an HDMI video and audio extension product that uses a single Cat6 cable.

HD-One is fully HDCP-compliant and capable of extending uncompressed 1080p video with audio to 150 feet, or 1080i/720p video with audio to 200 feet. A plug-and-play device that requires no adjustments or tuning, HD-One uses only a single power supply on the transmitter end, eliminating the need for an extra power outlet and cabling at the receiver end. For added installation convenience, mounting tabs are built into both the HD-One transmitter and receiver.

“Magenta is very excited to offer an HDMI extension kit that, unlike many other solutions, eliminates the need for a second UTP cable,” said Magenta Research’s chief scientist Chris Miller. “HD-One is a perfect solution for remotely locating an HDMI source, whether in a home or for a residential home theater or in commercial digital signage applications.”

HD-One is sold as a kit, containing one transmitter, one receiver and one 12V universal power supply. HD-One also can be used for extending DVI video when used with optional HDMI to DVI adapter cables.
