Local firm deploys DOOH network to 20+ Lake Charles, La., hotels

Lake Charles, La.-based Digikast LLC, which has provided digital advertising solutions for the Lake Charles Regional Airport since 2008, announced that it has launched the HOTELKAST digital signage network, bringing digital out-of-home advertising into the lobbies of more than 20 area hotels.

“With our existing advertising services at the Lake Charles Regional Airport promoting local businesses to tourists and business travelers, the next logical step was to capture their attention where they stay while they’re here,” said Digikast owner and CEO John Condos in the announcement. “The feedback from our advertisers at the airport has been phenomenal, so these new venues should help to augment their business visibility throughout the lake area.”

In Southwest Louisiana, Digikast said, it is the first company to offer digital, location-based media to the area. With HOTELKAST, hotels in the area, including Lake Charles, Sulphur and Iowa, now have a new way to assist their guests with information about local eateries, attractions and retail stores.

“After Digikast installed our HOTELKAST monitor, we noticed our guests gravitating toward the screen,” said Jiten Zavari, owner and operator of the LaQuinta Inn & Suites in Lake Charles, in the announcement. “Hosting this digital sign in our lobby is another amenity we can offer our guests. It really shows them how much there is to see and do in our city.”

To enhance the service for hotel guests, HOTELKAST also provides the front desk with a binder that features the menus and promotional materials for the advertisers on their digital sign. Referrals from the hotel staff can also give discounts for guests at particular restaurants.

“The ability to have guests from out-of-town find out about our restaurants through HOTELKAST will be beneficial, to say the least,” said Darren Martel, owner of Casa Mañana and Que Pasa Taqueria, two prominent Lake Charles Mexican restaurants, in the announcement. “Giving these travelers a discount to come eat with us after they see our ad on HOTELKAST is a great way to promote our establishments.”
