Ingram Micro signs NEXCOM media players to digital signage line card

Ingram Micro today announced a new business relationship with NEXCOM International where Ingram will provide its channel partners a wide range of industrial-strength media players through its digital signage division. The alliance is the first broadline distribution agreement for NEXCOM.
NEXCOM provides a full line of media players, including a new high-speed, high-definition (HD) model incorporating AMD Athlon Quad Core processors and offering the capability to power up four 720P or 1080P monitors.
“Industry studies show that digital signage increases sales of promoted products when the customer communication medium uses live content, versus traditionally printed signs,” said Kevin Prewett, vice president of the digital sgnage division and vendor management for Ingram Micro U.S. “In addition, results of our own studies indicate that one out of every five Ingram Micro solution providers surveyed plan to sell digital signage technology in 2010. By adding a strong media player partner such as NEXCOM to our line card, we will be able to better serve our channel partners with advanced technologies that meet their clients’ diverse project needs.”
