GDS Displays set to intro new stretch display at InfoComm

A new, 38-inch stretched display is on the way from GDS Displays.

The company announced recently that it will introduce the new stretched version of its MIDAS range of outdoor LCDs at InfoComm 2010 next month in Las Vegas.

The direct sunlight-readable display is designed for continuous use in strenuous environments and is aimed at providing a fully-integrated digital signage solution, the company says.

GDS Displays says its 1,000 cd/sqm LED backlighting technology enhances readability and offers excellent uniformity of light while consuming less power and offering longer life than conventional CCFL lamps. An ambient light sensor continually adjusts screen brightness levels to ensure comfortable viewing at all times. GDS says it has alleviated back-of-glass reflection and condensation issues while giving the display excellent protection by bonding vandal-proof glass directly to the LCD.

The new displays are housed in IP65-rated enclosures that provide both physical protection and resistance to moisture and dust, and they are automatically thermally managed.
