KENILWORTH, N.J. —Diversified Systemsrecently completed a major digital signage network installation as well as sound, video, broadcast and cabling systems for the new Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
Fondly known as “The Rock,” The Prudential Center is home to the NHL’s New Jersey Devils, Seton Hall Men’s Basketball, MISL’s New Jersey Ironmen indoor soccer team, concerts, family shows and special events. The facility opened in the fall of 2007.
Diversified Systems was originally brought in to design and install three major systems: the sound system, the broadcast cabling and the SMATV digital signage system. These are the most intricate systems that Diversified Systems worked on, and consisted of thousands of connection points throughout the entire arena, all originating from central hubs.
The digital signage and SMATV System project required taking various, incoming feeds, modulating them for enhancement and transferring them via cable to plasma screens within the center.
The sound system project involved audio, surround sound, the replay board, speaker clusters, wiring, a support system, coverage in aisles and concessions and a public address system — all to support the use of in-house systems for games or other events. The broadcast cabling project consisted of installing all wiring for video, audio and network connections. This provides the capability for both in-house broadcasting and a tie-in to outside sources.
