Clear Channel Outdoor announced yesterday a new digital display network that is being set up in the urban section of White Plains, N.Y. Made up of eight 6 x 3.3-foot displays, the network will operate on City of White Plains Department of Parking properties.
Per regulation, the digital screens will rotate static images every eight seconds. The City of White Plains will also have exclusive use of digital tickers on the billboards, which it will use to communicate with the public.
White Plains has a population of 56,000 residents, a number which rises to 200,000 during the day as commuters and visitors descend on the city. White Plains is located 25 miles north of Manhattan.
Clear Channel said in a survey that people who have seen ads in the media in the past 12 months, 63 percent said digital signage captured their attention, compared to 57 percent who said magazine ads captured their attention and 56 percent who said TV ads did.
