The Tampa Tribune reports that the Tampa City Council voted last Thursday to move forward with proposed rules allowing Clear Channel Outdoors and CBS Outdoors to begin installing digital billboards in the city.
Under the rules beung considered, the number of digital billboards would be limited to 12, six for each company, and the rate at which ads change on the digital displays would be restricted to every 10 seconds for signs on federal highways and 15 seconds for those on state and local roads.
A public hearing and initial vote on the ordinance has been scheduled for May 6.
