Cisco has partnered with Array Interactive, Inc. to pioneer touchscreen applications specifically for the retail industry. Designed and developed for Cisco’s Digital Media Suite (DMS), the application provides new opportunities for current and prospective Cisco retail customers seeking to create more relevant connections with customers.
The application integrates social media content such as product reviews, video and end-user ratings and has send-to-a-friend features that allow consumers to share products of interest via email or social platforms such as Facebook, Flickr or Twitter. It can also be leveraged for external customer-facing presentations and internal training. Training content is accessible by entering an employee identification number.
For the retailers deploying the product, tracking and metrics are integrated to provide greater insight into which product categories and product-specific content is providing the greatest value.
“Array Interactive is one of our premier product and application providers for DMS. It was important to leverage a partner that has consistently demonstrated the ability to create uniquely powerful and relevant applications for digital signage and DMS specifically. The retail industry is a primary focus for DMS and having an application that demonstrates how our new touch-enabled digital signage solutions can benefit this specific space is critical,” says Brian Gardner, business development manager, Digital Media Suite at Cisco.
The application interface will be on display as part of Cisco’s exhibit at NRF 2010, an annual convention and expo touted as retail’s “BIG show.”
“We listened intently to retailers and integrated features and functionality designed to create more intimate brand interactions with customers and provide relevant information at the point of decision,” says Jeff Dumo, founding partner and director of client solutions at Array Interactive.
