Campus network earns Digital Display Group creativity DIGI Award

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Digital Display Group, or DDG, a division of Alpha Video & Audio Inc., announced that it was recently a second-time winner at the fourth annual DIGI Awards, held at The digital signage Show on October 15, 2008 in New York. Alpha Video’s DDG won in the category of Corporate Application, Excellence in Creative for its University of New Mexico project.

The DIGI Awards recognize the most successful and innovative digital signage deployments that have taken place within the past year. Stan Stanek, president and CEO of Alpha Video & Audio Inc., said, “We are very honored to have won this prestigious award again, which highlights the distinction of our digital signage solutions. We look forward to continuing our success in signage applications and thank the judges for choosing Alpha Video and Digital Display Group as a 2008 DIGI Award winner.”

Alpha Video’s Digital Display Group designed and installed a state-of-the-art video wall and conference system for the University of New Mexico Anderson School of Management. The video wall allows for a trading floor look and displays real-time stock-pricing information, a stock and news ticker, and live high-definition television feeds in many different locations on the wall. The system is also configured for a lecture mode that allows for media playback, PowerPoint input, and document cameras to aid in classroom instruction. Scala’s InfoChannel 5 and DDG’s own CastNET software handle all of the stock-data displays, permitting the University to utilize user-friendly control of the wall, configuration, on/off times, etc., through a web-based interface.
