California to set energy regulations for flatscreens

Los Angeles Times: California state regulators are getting ready to curb the power usage of flatscreens, particularly plasmas by drafting the nation’s first rules requiring retailers to sell only the most energy-efficient models, starting in 2011. At the moment, the regulation would only be applicable to consumer electronics, but in the future could affect the sales of screens used for digital signage if passed.
